Dramatic footage has emerged of the aftermath of a gunman opening fire at a fitness enthusiast in a ‘targeted attack’.

Police rushed to World Gym in Prospect, in Sydney’s west, at 11.40am on Monday morning after reports of a gunman.

NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia a person suffered minor injuries and was being treated by paramedics.

The man, aged in his 30s, is believed to have been shot in the leg.

A person was injured in a suspected shooting on Monday morning at World Gym in Prospect in Sydney’s west

Videos taken by witnesses showed the man laying on the floor inside the gym as patrons surround him, trying to tend to his wound. 

He is wheeled into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher, his legs wrapped in bandages.  

There were suggestions the shooting may have been related to an underworld conflict, but this was yet to be confirmed.

He was carted out of the gym on a stretcher and put into the back of an ambulance to be taken to hospital 

NSW Police said the shooting was a ‘targeted attack’.

Officers from the Blacktown Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the shooting. 

Patrons were reportedly stuck inside the gym while the situation was unfolding.
